«Do you know how much talent there is out there on the guitar, singing and dancing? My sister also worked in a tablao and now she is selling cosmetics. There are many artists who have had to reinvent themselves, but it is not what they were born to do, but to make art and to make the world fall in love,» defends the Catalan in a conversation with Efe about this situation.
«I feel that there is a lack of control regarding the treatment of the different sectors, a general incoherence. I understand that it is not easy to manage all this, but with a little more sensitivity things would be done better,» he insists in view of the measures being taken during the pandemic.
«In a way, in the midst of the disaster, it was good for me to stop. We were going at breakneck speed, with no time for reflection. But it has been too much. It has become claustrophobic and I was throwing the speed and rhythm back,» he confesses.
«This time that commitment is firmer, made from love, with an optimistic and beautiful language. I want a healthier planet for my son and the generations to come», he says, before also revealing that he will reflect all the musical facets that make him up: «the cantaor, but also the coplero and the one who loves Latin America».
